Distance Learning Phase

Distance learning: from 7 November to 12 December 2005

Learning at a distance is fascinating and it enables people from different contexts to build up a community by sharing objectives and knowledge.

These 5-week distance learning phase is foreseen to enable participants to strengthen the good working relationships built during the face-to-face phase, deepen their knowledge of the learning contents and finalize the completion of the assignments.

The distance learning phase is to be undertaken using the Virtual Classroom of this online learning platform, where participants can:

  • Access learning and reference material.
  • Communicate with their tutor (for support related to the learning contents) and learning adviser (for support related to the course methodology and the use of the online platform).
  • Exchange information and share experiences with the other participants in the virtual Forum.

At the end of the study of a set of learning contents, participant should finalize the assignment and send it to their tutor for feedback and suggestion for improvement. The tutor will be  at participants' disposal for clarifications and assessment.

Virtual discussions undertaken in the Forum, proposed either by tutor or participants, will also help to facilitate understanding as well as contribute to information and experience sharing.

At the end of the course, the tutor will provide participants with a final assessment based on the assignment produced.

The learning adviser, who will provide explanations on the course methodology and support participants in using the platform will also be available during the whole course.
