The LL.M. in Intellectual Property is designed for both professionals and junior academics who already have a grounding in IP and wish to acquire the skills required to play a leading role in practice and teaching through exposure to an international and comparative approach. The curriculum aims to provide an in-depth examination of the classical topics of IP law, as well as a specialized analysis of the latest developments in the fields of patents, trademarks, domain names, copyright and related rights, design, software and databases, integrated circuits, biotechnological patents and plant varieties, the Internet and e-commerce.

The first cycle is provided via distance learning. The second cycle is based on face-to-face lectures and, building on an introductory review of economic analysis of law, analyzes IP protection both at the international and national level. The divergences between common law and civil law approaches and the underlying policy options shall be highlighted by resort to comparative law. Leading IP practicioners will discuss infringements of IPRs and the efficacy of remedies, such as cross-border injunctions and litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute settlement resolution. The program includes a full module dedicated to antitrust. The Master of Laws in Intellectual Property is organised by the University of Turin Law School and by the World Intellectual Property Organization Academy, in cooperation with the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO) in Turin.
