FORMER STUDENTS SHAPING THE WORLD OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
MAJA BOGATAJ JANCIC, MA, LL.M., LL.M., Intellectual Property Institute

Maja Bogataj Jančič has earned her master's degrees from the Universities of Ljubljana (‘99), Harvard (‘00) and Turin (‘05). She is currently finishing her PhD-thesis on the copyright law at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana. She is the founder and the director of the Intellectual Property Institute. She also leads the Creative Commons Slovenian project.
JONATHAN CURCI

Jonathan Curci is Visiting Scholar at Brigham Young University, Utah, USA advising the International Law and Management Review www.ilmreview.org. He is also currently attending the LL.M Program in Comparative Law at the J. Ruben Clark Law School and is a Ph.D candidate in international law at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. After earning the degree of post-graduate specialization in intellectual property jointly organized by WIPO and the University of Torino, he served as Tutor and Lecturer of the residential and distance learning (on-line) courses of the Master of Laws (LL.M) in Intellectual Property held in the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation, jointly organized and directed by prof. Mpazi Sinjela of WIPO Worldwide Academy and prof. Marco Ricolfi of the Law School of Turin, Italy. He currently serves as a Lecturer of the LL.M. In his activity as Associate with Lalive & Partners Attorneys-at-Law he has been Member of the international arbitration team (commercial litigation and representation of Iraq before the United Nations Compensation Commission. He has recently served as legal counsel of the Italian delegation at the WIPO Committee on Biological Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore. He has also served as on-line tutor of the WIPO Academy. He has published in the field of international intellectual property law and public international law.
He is fluent in Italian, French, German, Hebrew and English.
CARLO ELIGIO MEZZETTI

Education and experience: Bologna University (J.D., summa cum laude and Renè Cassin Scholarship, 1995. Post-graduate Course of Advanced Studies in EC Law, 1996), World Intellectual Property Organisation (Geneva) and Turin University (LLM in Intellectual Property, 2003); Universities of Bologna, Padua, Ferrara and Modena (Ph.D., European Union Law and Copyright, 2005).
He has been an executive of the Italian Ministry of Industry and Trade during the 1996 Italian semester of presidency of the EU, and legal advisor of the Bologna Fine Arts Bureau and National Gallery (1997-98). Before joining Tosetto, Weigmann e Associati in 2003, he worked at Studio Cagli-Alessandri in Bologna (1995 to 2003).
He is lecturer of International Contracts Law in the Bologna University’s Master Programme for international lawyers; formerly, of European Union Law and EC Law of Competition in the Bologna and Buenos Aires Universities’ Master Programme on the international relations between EU and Latin America
Areas of practice: He is active in assisting and advising clients on the national and international aspects of intellectual property and commercial law.
